Church Under the Bridge

We have been called to the inner-city of Lexington, to reach out to our neighbors, our brothers and sisters who are homeless or marginally-housed.  We welcome each other in celebration, in a casual “come as you are” environment, to grow in relationship with one another, as we grow in relationship with our Father.  We are a ministry born of the streets and we keep to the streets to share the hope and love that exists in Jesus Christ.

Every Sunday Church Under The Bridge comes together in Downtown Lexington to love God and to love their neighbors.  We begin with worship, teaching and prayer.  This is followed by a powerful display of Christ’s love with a free hot meal, a packed lunch bag to go and many services; i.e.. medical and case management, prescriptions, bus tokens, hair stylist, and various types of clothing and personal needs.

Church Under The Bridge meets outside on the grounds of The Mission House (The Episcopal Diocese) at 4th and Martin Luther King Blvd. from April through October, and then we go inside in the Fellowship Hall of Broadway Christian Church at 2nd and Broadway, November through March, every Sunday from 3 to 5 pm.

God's Pantry Food Bank

In 1955, a concerned citizen named Mim Hunt began distributing food out of the basement of her home to those in need of assistance. Through the years, this small effort grew into the large-scale hunger relief organization that God’s Pantry Food Bank is today.

God’s Pantry Food Bank is a member of Feeding America. The mission of Feeding America is to create a hunger-free America. Our network includes more than 200 food banks and food-rescue organizations serving every county in the U.S. We distribute food and grocery products, increase public awareness of domestic hunger, and advocate for policies that benefit Feeding America.

The mission of God’s Pantry Food Bank is to reduce hunger in Kentucky through community cooperation making the best possible use of all available resources.

Room in the Inn

Room in the Inn is a seasonal winter ministry for homeless men of the greater Lexington area. Our heart and soul are the area congregations who, on a rotating basis, offer the grace of hospitality by welcoming small groups of homeless men into their doors every night of the winter season from November until March annually. Our ministry began in the Winter 2003-04 Season with only 4 churches hosting 12-14 homeless men 4 nights each week. We now have 26 congregations providing hospitality and shelter to approximately 24 Guests nightly. Our sole mission is to be the heart, the hands, and the face of Jesus Christ to those we serve by offering unconditional love and fellowship to those who are otherwise ostracized by society.

The Academy

Partnering with Urban Impact of Lexington, Broadway hosts The Academy, an after school program designed to equip youth with tools that will help them become leaders in their neighborhoods. The Broadway campus provides this opportunity for our neighbors at Harrison Elementary School, where there is a strong emphasis on reading and math reinforcement, as well as homework help.  Some of the components in The Academy are service learning skills, sports and recreation, and enrichment activities. We want children and youth to make a positive impact in their communities now, to help foster a greater change that will last for generations in the City of Lexington and abroad.

Team Expansion (Spain)

Born out of extraordinary prayer, we partner with the global church to mobilize, train, and coach qualified workers in the implementation of the fruitful practices of church planting movements. Our desire is to see every person in the world reached with the gospel of Christ. We’re working toward that goal through evangelism, church planting, and disciple making movements.

In 2017, Team Expansion started a church planting work in Granada, Spain. The need was great in Spain because there are only 1% evangelical Christians in Spain.

We are asking God to help us launch a disciple making movement in Granada, Spain, that would include at least one Bible study in each of the 25 towns around Granada that have no Evangelical Churches.

Training Christians Ministry

TCM comes alongside Christians who are leading in their own countries and have a passion for reaching their people for Christ.  Through our institute we can develop a Christian leader for ministry for only 1% of the cost it would take to send a U.S. missionary to that same country.  Since these individuals already know the cultures and languages, they are able to have successful ministries and are equipped for a lifetime of service.

Expressions of Emmanuel

Expressions of Emmanuel is an organization of missionaries that provides visual and sign language interpretation of God’s word to the Deaf community
Our mission and vision projects are cutting edge. There are very few who are attempting any Christian video works targeted towards the Deaf community. Our “on location” songs, lessons and devotionals are almost non-existent. Extremely visual Bible lessons for children and adults are also very few and far between. The proclamation of the Gospel via video is needed to reach the Deaf community.
