Local Outreach

Bread of Life

Bread of Life Ministries have operated since May of 2009 with one goal in mind: to feed the hungry and impoverished while spreading the love of God. Founder, Mike Miller, serves food with the help of volunteers every Wednesday and Friday starting around 4pm inside the fellowship hall here at Broadway.

Church Under the Bridge

We have been called to the inner-city of Lexington, to reach out to our neighbors, our brothers and sisters who are homeless or marginally-housed.  We welcome each other in celebration, in a casual “come as you are” environment, to grow in relationship with one another, as we grow in relationship with our Father.  We are a ministry born of the streets and we keep to the streets to share the hope and love that exists in Jesus Christ.

Every Sunday Church Under The Bridge comes together in Downtown Lexington to love God and to love their neighbors.  We begin with worship, teaching and prayer.  This is followed by a powerful display of Christ’s love with a free hot meal, a packed lunch bag to go and many services; i.e.. medical and case management, prescriptions, bus tokens, hair stylist, and various types of clothing and personal needs.

Church Under The Bridge meets outside on the grounds of The Mission House (The Episcopal Diocese) at 4th and Martin Luther King Blvd. from April through October, and then we go inside in the Fellowship Hall of Broadway Christian Church at 2nd and Broadway, November through March, every Sunday from 3 to 5 pm.

God's Pantry Food Bank

In 1955, a concerned citizen named Mim Hunt began distributing food out of the basement of her home to those in need of assistance. Through the years, this small effort grew into the large-scale hunger relief organization that God’s Pantry Food Bank is today.

God’s Pantry Food Bank is a member of Feeding America. The mission of Feeding America is to create a hunger-free America. Our network includes more than 200 food banks and food-rescue organizations serving every county in the U.S. We distribute food and grocery products, increase public awareness of domestic hunger, and advocate for policies that benefit Feeding America.

The mission of God’s Pantry Food Bank is to reduce hunger in Kentucky through community cooperation making the best possible use of all available resources.

Lexington Leadership Foundation - Urban Impact

Since 2005, the Urban Impact initiative has set out on a course to not only make a difference in the lives of urban children and youth in Fayette County, but to empower churches and equip leaders.

When existing congregations and gifted leaders come together for a common vision, they become more than a ministry…they become a movement!

Working as an alliance, Urban Impact connects ministries across the city to execute a city wide youth ministry focusing on outreach events, youth development activities, and discipleship programs.

Lexington Rescue Mission

Founded in November 2001, LRM exists to glorify God through a Christ-centered ministry that meets the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of hurting people in the greater Lexington area. Lexington Rescue Mission plays a vital role in preventing and helping to end homelessness in Lexington.

Natalie’s Sisters

In 2016, Natalie’s Sisters became a nonprofit organization and now partners with numerous churches and organizations to reach at-risk women. The faithfulness of hundreds of team members creates life change opportunities by extending hope, support, and God’s unconditional love.

The mission of Natalie’s Sisters is to extend hope, support, and God's unconditional love to sexually exploited women through a first-touch approach providing respite, relationship, and referrals to community resources.

Refuge for Women

Refuge for Women opened its first location in Kentucky in 2009. It is a non-profit, faith-based organization that provides long-term care for women who are survivors of human trafficking and sexual exploitation, offering them a new beginning. Since that time, Refuge for Women has served more than 100 women and received $3 million in donations contributed by more than 3,000 supporters.

Lighthouse Ministries

Lighthouse Ministries physically, nutritionally, and spiritually serves the homeless and low income members of our community through three mission-centric ministries: Dining with Dignity, Michael’s Feet, and Self-Care.

Project Harrison

Project Harrison started with giving our closest elementary school supplies in the fall. This has grown to feeding teacher on regular occasions and providing teacher appreciation gifts. We have helped facilitate holiday and graduation meals and outings. We were blessed to be a part of providing Christmas gifts to the students. We also help provide beds for families that move from shelters to more permanent housing.
